Meet us!
Sue Stillwell for Village President
Hello, my name is Sue Stillwell, and Iām running for Village President to offer the residents of Sugar Grove a choice beyond the current administration. Although I never planned to pursue this role, I share the concerns many residents have expressed over recent years about a divided community. My aim is to serve as a leader who listens, respects diverse viewpoints, and values community engagement.
Real Estate as a Senior Title Examiner, has equipped me with a strong foundation in working with zoning, ordinances, and village-level decision-making.
I am committed to financial responsibility, mindful spending of taxpayer dollars, and transparent governance. Additionally, I am deeply invested in local conservation efforts, especially through supporting native plant restoration, forest preserves, and Friends of the Fox River. I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to a unified, resilient, and thriving Sugar Grove.
Mike Roskopf for Village Trustee
My name is Mike Roskopf, and I've had the privilege of calling Sugar Grove my home since 2019, following years of living in Montgomery. As a Certified Public Accountant, I bring a strong background in tax and financial accounting to the table, shaped by years of diverse professional experience. I am running for village trustee because I believe in transparent, accountable governance that listens to and respects the voices of its residents. Recently, decisions by the current board have left many residents feeling unheard, particularly with projects like the Crown TIF. When numerous community members raised concerns about its financial impact, those voices were largely ignored, and the board moved forward without addressing them. I believe we deserve better. If elected, I will work to expand and diversify Sugar Grove's tax base responsibly, attracting businesses that align with our community's values and priorities. My goal is to foster growth that has the broad support of our residents and strengthens our village for the future. I am here to represent you and ensure your concerns are always part of the decision-making process.
Nora London for Village Trustee
I have been a resident for over 10 years, living in Dugan Woods. I moved here with my family to be in a smaller community and for my children to attend Waubonsee community college. I would like to support my community by serving as trustee. The residents in our village need to know that those representing them have similar interests and focus for the management and development of our community. The community needs representation that is responsive to the residents and their needs and concerns. Your voices should be not only heard but acted on. I hope to represent you fairly with open communication. The skills I have developed over the years, I feel would benefit the community particularly in light of the concerns of industrial and commercial development. As a District Manager in Risk Engineering and Property Loss Control, I bring a wealth of expertise in property loss prevention, highly protected risk (HPR) engineering, insurance and risk management, emergency management, and industrial safety. With years of experience assessing the impact of industrial and commercial development, I understand how property development shapes our community and the industries it attracts.
My background includes serving on the Strategic Planning Committee for the City of Springboro, OH, where I helped guide decisions that balanced growth with community well-being. I am committed to leveraging my knowledge and leadership to ensure responsible development and a safer, more resilient future for our community.
